Rotor Safety Program (RSP)

Inspecting metal centrifuge rotors on a regular basis is critical, to ensure the safety of all personnel working in the laboratory environment. Metal rotors are heavy, subject to corrosion and fatigue, and become dangerous as they age because weakened rotors can break apart under normal use. Due to the tremendous g-force metal rotors experience during rotation, any incident could be disastrous. We are committed to improving laboratory safety by removing unsafe metal rotors and through the use of patented Carbon Fiber Technology.

Take advantage of our rotor inspections for each of your benchtop and floormodel centrifuges. We will arrange, at your convenience, to have one of our factory certified technicians evaluate the safety of your existing metal rotors. Once the unsafe rotors have been identified, the technician can offer a FIBERLite carbon fiber replacement rotors that will permanently solve your corrosion and safety issues. With the evaluation of your metal rotors, documentation will be provided for each rotor inspected as well as a general report on the work completed. Furthermore, we will provide the end user, if present, with information on how they can improve the safety and extend the life of the equipment.
